Empowering the Vision Impaired Through Islamic Knowledge: The Noorul Quran by Touch Initiative

At Masjid Khulafa’a Rashideen, our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in Islamic education is embodied in our unique “Noorul Quran by Touch” program. This pioneering initiative focuses on producing Braille copies of the English Translation of the Qur’an, making the sacred text accessible to the blind and vision-impaired Muslims, as well as non-Muslims, across the nation.

Bridging the Gap with Braille Islamic Literature Understanding the importance of access to religious texts, our printing house goes beyond the Quran. We also produce Braille copies of Hadith and various Islamic books. This endeavor reflects our dedication to providing comprehensive Islamic knowledge to all, regardless of their physical abilities. By equipping individuals with these resources, we aim to deepen their understanding and connection with their faith.

Educational Opportunities for the Blind Central to our mission is the provision of educational opportunities for blind Muslims. We recognize the challenges faced by the visually impaired in accessing Islamic education. To address this, our Masjid offers specialized programs, such as Hifiz al Qur’an for blind students, English Braille Reading Classes, and Arabic Braille Classes for reading the Qur’an. These programs are tailored to empower and enable blind students, providing them with the tools and support needed to engage with the Quran and Islamic teachings.

Creating a Community of Inclusivity and Learning Our goal extends beyond education; we strive to build an inclusive community where vision-impaired Muslims can thrive spiritually and intellectually. By offering these services at no cost, we ensure that financial constraints do not hinder anyone from seeking knowledge and participating fully in the Islamic community. The success stories of our students, who overcome their challenges to engage deeply with their faith, inspire us to continue and expand this vital service
